2 pounds sour cherries, fresh or frozen and defrosted
1 cup sugar
3 cups vodka
Rinse and dry the cherries, no need to pit them, it will all be strained, Place in a large jar with the sugar . Seal the jar and store for 3-5 days.
Add the vodka, reseal and shake well. Store for 5 days in a dark, dry place.
Strain the Vishnyovka through cheese cloth or a fine strainer into a bottle ready for use
Yael now has the cherries cannot wait to taste.
Vodka was lovely added to the sour cherries but I love Sangria. I have never had a better glass of Sangria than when I mixed the bottle with the sour cherries from your tree and let the mixture sit in the fridge for 2 weeks. What a delight! Larry enjoyed it as much as I did.
