Mom’s Granola


3 cups large flake oatmeal, (not quick cooking)

¼ cup chopped pecans

¼ cup slivered almonds

¼ cup sunflower seeds

¼ cup dried cranberries

¼ cup pumpkin seeds

¼ cup raisins or currents

¼ cup coconut

½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

½ cup honey or maple syrup

¼ cup vegetable oil.

Combine all ingredients except dried fruit, oil and honey in a large bowl

Heat honey and oil together till warm, Not hot and pour over mixture, mix well, spread on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake @ 325 deg until toasted, 15 – 20 min depending on your oven. Stir every 10 min, when done add the dried fruit.
