About

Welcome to Blima’s recipes site.

The origin of the word BlimaCake dates back to the early 1990’s when Blima’s son’s friends would come over after school and immediately upon entering the house ask if there was any cake. To differentiate the awesome cake that was made by Blima from regular cake (made by any non-Blima person), the term “BlimaCake” was adopted.

Cake made by someone else is merely “cake”. Once you’ve eaten BlimaCake, you’ll understand.

This site was put together as an online repository of Blima and her family’s favorite recipes. We hope you enjoy them, and if you like (or dislike) something, please post a comment on the respective page.

Hi Blima, Glad they set you up with a blog. I’m in Phoenix this week enjoying the sun. We are staying at the Biltmore. Got a pedicure this morning and had lunch at the pool. Having dinner with a friend from the “Your Well Being” group. I really enjoy the pictures of Jackson.

Hi Blima, your (Anna Olson’s) recipe for Macadamia Lemon Biscotti brought me to your page – but when I clicked on your About tab, the photo of you and your husband with your two poodles floored me… Because my husband and I have two standard poodles too, a black and a white one!! It’s a lovely photo of you all 🙂 Lauren x

  21. Lauren James says:

Hi Blima, I just sent you a response earlier, about your two standard poodles (which we also have – also a black and a white one!), before I had noticed that your last post was in May. I just wanted to ask if you were OK? I hope so. I have really enjoyed reading your posts about your dogs and your lovely photos. Sending hugs and warm wishes that you and everyone in your family is fine in these troubled times, from Sydney, Australia. Lauren xx

We were having some trouble with the site’s old template (hadn’t been updated in a while and wasn’t letting Blima see comments). There’s a new one installed now, so she should be back to normal!

Thank you, website is fixed and all is well.
